Description

A feature of the module is its focus on students' reflection on their work and acting on feedback to enhance the quality of their work. If you are a domestic graduate coursework student with a Domestic Tuition Fee (DTF) place or international student you will be required to pay course tuition fees (see below). To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

Students will learn the principles of separation science and will use their knowledge to propose appropriate separation techniques for different mixtures of compounds. Understand two and three dimensional organic molecular structures, their origins and their physical, chemical and biological properties. For lecturers: * Fully worked solutions to the exercises available through the Online Resource Centre. This module aims to introduce students to the fundamental principles of analytical, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry, and to build understanding and insight into the structure, reactivity and physicochemical properties of molecular species. Outline answers are made available via the Chemistry web pages when the students receive their marks, so that they can assess their own detailed progress/achievement. Provide mechanistic rationalisations for reactions of coordination complexes, including biological coordination complexes. The authors have adopted a new approach to the teaching of chemistry which cuts through physical, inorganic and organic chemistry as needed.

Students will gain a detailed understanding of the different definitions and behaviour of acids and bases, including an ability to rationalise and predict the behaviour of new compounds. Anti-requisites You can’t enrol in this unit if you have completed any of these anti-requisite units.Read about our goals for future growth, achievements and success, and the organisational structures that support us. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). Written by two Cambridge academics (including Wothers who also wrote Organic Chemistry with Clayden) the book covers essentially the entire first year of a general chemistry course (organic, inorganic and physical) along with some topics that might be covered in second year.
