It is the role of the Department for Education ( DfE) to define the content of the level 3 qualifications that practitioners must hold to be included in the ratios specified in the early years foundation stage (EYFS) statutory framework. Learners interested in the Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner (Early Years Educator) (Work Based) will be required to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of early years education and care, including that they can support and promote children's early education and development, plan and provide effective care, teaching and learning that enables children to progress and prepares them for school, make accurate and productive use of assessment, develop effective and informed practice, safeguard and promote the health, safety and welfare of children, work in partnership with the key person, colleagues, parents and/or carers or other professionals.

The apprentice must answer correctly a minimum of 23 questions out of 35 to achieve a pass. Of the 23 questions answered correctly, these must include all 5 questions relating to K15. Safety and Safeguarding: Training ensures that early years educators can provide a safe and secure environment and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns. Understand the importance of promoting diversity, equality and inclusion, fully reflecting cultural differences and family circumstances. The Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years.

On completion learners will be able to work as Early Years Educators in England. It will allow the apprentice to evidence both the knowledge gained and its application through skills and behaviours. Skill Development: The resource provides practical skills and knowledge essential for success as an early years educator, particularly for those engaged in work-based learning. Level 3 may be more suitable for those who want to plan, organise and lead enriching learning activities, and perhaps supervise others. This qualification also enables you to be counted within the staff:child ratio guidelines in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework settings have to follow, which is something employers will be looking for.

Qualification Support: It aligns with the CACHE Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification, helping learners meet the requirements for certification. All level 3 early years educator qualifications will require candidates to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of early years education and care, including that they can: Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Children's Play, Learning and Development (Early Years Educator)601/7571/0 Placements are required for achievement of this qualification. A minimum of 350 placement hours is required. During placement, learners will need support from a professional within the real work environment who will be required to complete professional development records.
